PSYCHIATRY AND PSYCHOTHERAPY SERVICES

I am a board certified psychiatrist practicing in Chapel Hill, NC. I attended medical school at the University of Louisville and completed a 4 year residency training in psychiatry at The University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill. I offer psychotherapy and medication management services to clients in a confidential and therapeutic environment. I am committed to providing individualized treatment to help my clients heal and thrive. I believe mental health care can greatly improve quality of life, making us more self aware, compassionate, at ease, and fulfilled.

My focus is psychodynamic therapy which focuses on going beneath the surface so that deeper insights emerge and lasting change can begin to be made. It explores such themes as how strategies that were crucial to surviving a period of your life may now be causing dysfunction. It looks at why relationships aren’t functioning in the way that you want, or why you’re having a hard time finding fulfillment and a sense of purpose in life. This type of therapy grapples with the deep mysteries and questions inherent in being human and moves us from responding from a place of trauma or fear to a place of health and deeper understanding.

My work is relational as well as trauma and attachment informed. I have a special interest in working with women, healthcare and mental health professionals, and LGBTQ+ clients.
